Aurora Foods, Inc.
A class action lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on behalf of purchasers of Aurora Foods, Inc. (NYSE:AOR) common stock between April 28, 1999, and February 18, 2000, inclusive (the "Class Period").
Aurora is a provider, producer and marketer of premium brand food products including Duncan Hines® baking mixes, Log Cabin® syrup, Mrs. Butterworth's® syrup, Van de Kamp's frozen seafood and others.
According to the complaint, during the Class Period, defendants issued to the investing public financial statements and press releases concerning Aurora's financial condition and performance which were false, misleading, deceptive and failed to conform with both mandatory Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") guidelines and Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures ("GAAP"). As a result of these false and misleading statements, the market price of the Company's securities were artificially inflated during the Class Period.
