This is a class action on behalf of all persons who purchased the common stock, purchased call options, or sold put options of Engineering Animation Inc. during the period from February 19, 1998 through April 6, 1999, to recover damages caused by defendants’ fraudulent scheme to artificially inflate the price of Engineering Animation common stock through a series of false and misleading statements concerning the Company’s financial performance. It is also asserted that the defendants, and each of them, knew or recklessly disregarded that the Company’s losses, per share, were materially understated as a result of overly aggressive and improper accounting practices in violation of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and other principles of fair reporting.
